Curious case of Pandya

Who should bat at No 6, a pure batsman or a batsman who can bowl a bit? This is the conundrum faced by the Indian team since none of its batters bowl. A underperforming Pandya facing multiple injuries and not being able to bowl is a big worry.

A 10 ball 15 is not a kind of innings we expect from a man slotted in as a pure batsman. Considering the amount of dew in second innings in UAE and kind of form Pandya is going through probably a player who can bowl a bit and provide 20 runs of 8-9 balls will be more suited at such a position, making a strong case for Lord Shardul Thakur.

As of now it seems that following the suite of test cricket Shardul Thakur is set to take the place of Mr. Pandya. It will be a uphill task from here for him to get back into the Indian team.

Probably gaining fitness like the name given to him may help him get back to the Indian team. Waiting for you to become Kung fu Pandya again.

16 year old bowling sensation

Pakistan has always been famous for producing promising young cricketers and talented fast bowlers, the record for youngest player to make debut in test also goes to a Pakistani Hasan Raza at 14 years 227 days.

Apart from having a great action and raw speed what impressed me the most about this prodigy is the temperament and mental strength he showed by staying back and playing for his country after unfortunate death of his mother. A trait shown by greats like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. With great talent and good head over his shoulders expect him to be a superstar in coming years.

Talent vs Performance

Talent-28,3,1,0,4,65,4,19,27,6. Performance -379 in six games a double hundred and a 41 ball 91 against South Africa A. Who do you think gets dropped? Performance!

It was disappointing but not surprising to see Sanju Samson being dropped without being given a chance and Pant managing to retain his place in the team selected for Windies T20. In today’s day and age you cannot be a docile and silent performer you need to have colored streaks in your hair a sledger a funny guy and not to forget a top class baby sitter to retain your position rather than being good at your job.

A much needed shot in the arm for Test Cricket in India

22 November 2019, Eden Gardens marks a very important day where the last two major test playing nations will finally play their first day night test match. Sourav Ganguly BCCI president worked very hard for it . India being a top team and steam rolling every team in their path on homesoil it was disappointing to see empty stands and Kohli having to give instructions to small crowd of 5000 to cheer for his bowlers.

The reason why ashes is enjoyed and those epic performances come out is because of a very important factor the 12th man for the home team the atmosphere that they create. With Eden gardens being famous for the great atmosphere and matches that they had in famous 2001 test match hope this first day night match brings back those old days of test cricket and with test match at prime time the day night will not only have increased viewership and full house stadiums but also create interest among young generation who currently only watch IPL .

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
